Live at IAF Shop Cassette
The Langham Research Centre are based in London and perform live electronic music and
musique concrète. They play their own pieces and works by modernist composers of the 20th
century. In October 2018 they gave their debut performance in Japan, at the IAF Shop, as part
of the Fukuoka Extreme Music Festival. Here they played their own works, Perpetual Motion,
Accarezzo and Nachholbedürfnis along with Variations I by John Cage who performed this piece
in Japan in 1962. Their performance is now available on cassette, released on the deterra label
on 10 September 2021. The ensemble have previously released an album of John Cage's early
electronic and tape works [SubRosa SR361] and two albums of their own music on the
Nonclassical label.
