近年国際的に高い評価を得ているスウェーデンを代表する現代音楽作曲家、イェスパー・ノルディン(1971-)の作品集。スウェーデンの伝統的な民族音楽、ロック、即興音楽の影響を受けつつも、力強い情感を湛えた彼の音楽は世界中で人気を博しています。本作は、自身の芸術的成長において非常に重要であったという5年間に作曲された、3つの重要作品で構成されています。ソリストのフレドリク・エクダールとの緊密な共同作業によって生まれた《Vicinities》は、ダニエル・ハーディングが指揮するスウェーデン放送交響楽団によって、ストックホルムのベルワルド・ホールで初演が行われました。本作にはその初演時の録音が収録されています。」
